A substantial single corroded metal post.
This is the location of the stranding of HMS Erne (Canmore 290584), an early 20th century Destroyer, wrecked in 1915
There is a good account of the salvage plans for HMS Erne on https://lostinwatersdeep.co.uk/hms-erne.html. The vessel was sold to the Forth Shipbuilding Co Ltd for £405 in 1915, but at least some of the ship remained as a wreck. The metal post/pipe was the only visible element in October 2022, the rest buried in sand.
